ABOUT SCURRY TAILS:
In the “pages” of Scurry Tails, you can expect to find fun and imaginative spooky stories that feature fantastic and supernatural elements, beings and events — some of which are benign, but most are not.  Beware.

The “horror” here is relatively mild — the target age for these stories is 8-14, though both younger and older readers will find ample entertainment here.  Along with fright, humor and irony are frequent ingredients used, and we pride ourselves on being equal opportunity:  boys and girls alike should be able to enjoy our stories and identify with their characters — as should ghosts, witches, vampires, monsters, werewolves, devils, spiders and other creepy beings.  If you feel you’ve been excluded, our sincere apologies — please drop us a note and let us know, so we can remedy the situation with a tall tale about your favorite membership group, be it human or otherwise!

The Scare Rating and the Tell Time are a couple of proprietary features that we’ve employed on this site from the start that we think add significant value to our readers. Each is fairly self-explanatory; the Scare Rating is designed to give a sense, on a scale from 1 to 5, how scary a story might be to an average youth audience, and the Tell Time is designed to give readers a sense for how long it might take an average reader to tell the story to others.

We think all of our stories are great, and we hope you’ll stay a while to find this out for yourself.  If this is your first visit to the site, we recommend the following stories first:

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
3Bishops are pursuing a family adventure: creating and telling spooky campfire stories.  Until now, these were shared mostly within the relative safety of the family tent.  This site is a public forum for these stories — we want to chill and entertain others who find them on the web or even on a smart phone in the middle of the forest.

Dad is the perennial writer, but the youngest Bishop has penned four stories to date:  The Dog Box, The Haunted Vacation, The Hike and The Death Certificate.  All 3Bishops generate story ideas (Dead Man Come Alive was inspired by the eponymous trampoline game that the older son taught us); contribute illustrations (appearing in photographs and using traditional and digital media to produce art); and edit and provide critical feedback to make the site the best that it can be.
